PM Calls on Cambodians Abroad to Visit the Kingdom During Angkor Sankranta and SEA Games

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has called on Cambodians living abroad to come and visit Cambodia during the upcoming Angkor Sankranta festival and Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. The Royal Government continues to ensure the safety and security of all those who come to visit Cambodia to participate in these two major events that will take place in the coming months.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony for 1,946 students of the University of Human Resources on Monday morning, 20 February 2023, Prime Minister assured that Cambodian authorities strive to maintain peace for all visiting delegates and athletes in the upcoming SEA Games and other festivities.

"Fans at the time will not just come to watch sports, but will also visit several places," he said. "Therefore, I call on our Cambodian people living abroad to visit there hometown, visit during Angkor Sankranta, the Khmer New Year or attend the SEA Games in Cambodia."

Angkor Sankranta will be held from 14-16 April 2023. Prior to this festival, Cambodia will host a marathon, cycling program, and several concerts at Angkor Park from 8-9 April, and there will also be boating along the Siem Reap River. Later, in May and June, Cambodia will host the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games.
